This is from a musical nobody will have heard of, lol, although it was written by Jonathan Larson, who also wrote Rent, which you probably WILL have heard of.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find a professional recording of this song on Youtube, but this cast is pretty good, for the most part at least. ^.^
I like the lyrics of this song, they make me think…
Why do we follow leaders who never lead?
Why does it take catastrophe to start a revolution?
If we’re so free, tell me why?
Someone tell me why
So many people bleed?

I’ve heard of it
My friends are all broadway freaks and/or music majors
LOL! Awesome! I’m sure MY friends will be glad to know they’re not the only ones in this position!
I like this song. I like the theme and lyrics. I’m not usually a huge fan of musical songs unless I’ve seen it and they’re in context but I do like this one. I have actually heard of tick tick…BOOM before today, but only because you’ve mentioned it lol!
I have indeed heard of Tick, Tick…BOOM!, but then may count as a bit of a musical freak…anyway, one of the theatres locally staged it, but I wasn’t able to go and see it at the time so I haven’t actually listened to any of the songs from it before, but enjoyed that one! I did however hear a song on TV the other day, which, in the chorus, had a line which went along the lines of “Tick, tick…BOOM!” and am now intruigued as to whether it’s from the musical (because I enjoyed that too)?
Yay! Another person who has heard of it! Maybe it’s more widely known than I realise!
The song you heard on TV might have been this one; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqkJ30Kh7ZM, I don’t know what it is or who it’s by, but when I looked for the clip I wanted on Youtube, that one kept popping up as well.
Ah yes! That’d be the song! Now I’ve heard more of it it’s quite clearly unrelated to the musical (though I enjoyed it nonetheless)!
It does seem more well known than I had expected too! I did not really realise it had made Broadway etc.! ^-^
Hmm. I like it not an awful lot but a little.
Which is better than disliking it entirely!
Oh my gosh, are you kidding?! I LOVE this musical!! I have the album in my itunes
My favorite songs are 30/90 and Sunday. I haven’t actually seen the musical, only heard the music and gathered the story from that. I wish that I could see the actual show. It always makes me a little sad because it is somewhat a reflection of JL and it is so sad how he died. Anyway, I love your video. The set is neat how they are standing on the piano and stuff! ^.^
YAY! Another person who’s heard of it!!
I know, their set is so awesome! Although I was just waiting for the woman who plays Susan to trip n one of the raised keys and fall over in her high heeled boots! I so would have if I’d had to do that! *faceplant*
I also love the musical. I actually have the official off-broadway cast recording,a piano/vocal book of all the music, etc. Then again, I’m a theatre student. We tend to have all sorts of fun stuff from musicals. I’d love to see the production live though. That video is one of the better ones I’ve ever seen though.
Awesome, you sound even more dedicated than me! Lol! I kind of wish I’d studied more theatre at university now, it might have been more interesting than Sociology, which is what I’m majoring in.
